Lack of integrity

Basically the ball was dropped from day one. mid june. Its now 8/11/2021; We have talked to at least 10 different people and still no resolution. Would be great for one person to own it and say "Hey we dropped the ball and this will be taken care of." AND then have it taken care of !" Sadly this situation has caused more distress during a "recovery time."

i had a storm and the sliding came off and they paid out for the claim and went up the next year 700 the next year

Auto renew policy didn't renew automatically; Customer service kind but didn't help at all

We have MetLife home and auto through my workplace. My policy which should auto renew (premium is deducted monthly from my paycheck), didn't renew this year and I discovered it quite by accident. I was told by customer service they'd get back with me in under 48 hours. It has now been over twice that long. I called again today. While the customer service reps (foreign) were kind, they have not been able to figure this out or resolve it.

Filed a claim after 18 years of paying into the company

Please file a complaint with your State's Insurance department immediately. Keep filing here but filing with your States insurance department means that they have to act especially if there are a lot of people filing complaints. These people are criminals in the worst way.

I filed a complaint with the California Department of insurance for non payment of disability insurance with all documentation on how they don't follow ANY insurance guidelines. CDI does NOT CARE.

They do zero. I don't even know why they exist.

Terrible policy service and horrible customer service

My father worked for Met for 40 years. I've always had Metropolitan Insurance.

I've had homes insured with Met for 25 years. So, I always had faith in Met. Until now. I had a roof leak at a rental house (1 of 2) and wasn't sure if insurance would cover it, I filed a claim, an adjuster made an inspection and it was determined that the cost of repairs didn't exceed the deductible.

That was May 2020. Fast-forward to November 20. I receive a call from my mortgage company saying my insurance was being non renewed. Shocked, I called Met.

The first phone call lasted 1 hour and 50 minutes. I was finally told that the adjuster recommended nonrenewal due to the repairs needed. They had been sending paperwork to the wrong address for months. (I have had multiple issues with getting Met to correct inaccuracies with contact information.

Apparently they work across multiple systems which don't communicate.) I now had 10 days to supply proof of the repairs. No problem. My second phone call lasted 40 minutes and I finally got someone willing to accept the emailed documents. Nothing happened.

On the third phone call which lasted 1 hour and 35 minutes, I tried d to find out the status of my policy. I was told that despite their error informing me in a timely manner of the need to produce proof of repairs, the policy was not renewed. I was sent to one of their off-brand companies to re-insure the property. At a higher rate.

With higher deductibles. Each phone call requires at least 30 minutes to get through the gatekeepers of customer service - a 'round the world extravaganza of foreign call centers - to get to someone who may or may not help you. I was transferred at least 6 times on the two long calls and had to repeat the whole story each time. I will be looking to move all of my policies from Met.

I am so disappointed and disgusted that they would treat a good customer this way. Twenty-five years. Homeowners insurance, landlord insurance, boat insurance, auto insurance. And, not one person in authority could be bothered to speak with me about my problem.

Go anywhere else but Met. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

Horrible customer service

The billing method was changed without any prior notice because they did not receive the proper documentation. The first time I called the agent got my information and said the job was done.

A week later when i see that the billing method has not been changed I call up again. After waiting for 45 mins the agent (Mitchell) asks me some questions and hangs up on me. I call again, after another 45 mins wait and a call for an hour the agent says she will send me the required form on my email. I did not receive it.

Hence, I called back, this time the wait was for an hour and I asked to talk to the supervisor (Nikki T). She mailed me the form and I confirmed three times that I send the form online and did it so. I also confirmed that I will get a confirmation of form received within 24-48 hours. Of course, I did not receive any email.

So i called back - wait - the agent says I have to write my policy number in the subject line and hangs up on me. I call back - wait - the agent says I can write whatever I want on the subject line. I ask to talk to the supervisor (May) - the supervisor tells me that they do not accept this form online and I have mail or fax it. She promises me she will call back - of course she doesn't.

I still do not know what has happened to my form and if my billing has changed. This in my opinion is abuse and not just horrible customer service.

If this has negative 5 stars, I would give that

I called twice 5/26/2021 Alex refused to transfer me to a Supervisor - Alex put me on hold and did not return. I called back and spoke to Mary Catherine and she took all my information and I asked to be transferred to billing and she transferred me to Alex who hung up.

Car insurance

I was set up with a new insurance plan to take effect at the end of the month. I was promised all information as well as new cards would be e-mailed to me that day. No e-mail ever was sent. My bank account was charged a month before the new policy was even to take effect! Nothing but shady business!! When I called to cancel the policy and have the money returned I got the run-around! I refuse to do business with a company I can not trust.

I’m tired of trying to understand foreigners on the phone

I was on the phone for over an hour talking with 5 different creatures from El Salvador and the Philippines trying to get help logging into my MetLife account. I could not understand these creatures who spoke as if their mouths were full of *** (trying to be nice) and finally hung up the phone. I never got into the account or find a person that could just get my communications mailed to me.

Old Address On Claim Form

SUBMITTED TWO DEATH CLAIMS FORMS DOWNLOADED FROM METLIFE WEBSITE. JUST CALLED METLIFE AND WAS TOLD I MAILED THE TWO CLAIM FORMS TO THE WRONG ADDRESS BECAUSE THE ADDRESS ON THE FORM IS OUTDATED!!!! I SENT THE FORMS TO RHODE ISLAND, THEY SHOULD HAVE GONE TO TROY MICHIGAN.
